As the most mainstream mass production printing process for cigar bands, offset printing features high printing precision, stable color restoration, and uniform ink layer. It can accurately restore complex color gradients, gradient colors, and tiny text patterns, with low unit cost for large-batch orders. It is suitable for conventional pattern printing of most custom cigar bands and supports subsequent post-processing such as glazing and lamination. The only limitation is that the personalized adjustment cycle for small-batch orders is long, so it is more suitable for standardized mass customization.
Digital printing is the best choice for small-batch, multi-style, and highly personalized custom cigar bands. It requires no plate making, supports instant proofing and on-demand printing, and can realize personalized pattern customization for each product without repeated plate making costs. The color performance is bright and delicate, which can meet the design needs of complex color matching and creative patterns. Its disadvantage is that the unit cost is higher than offset printing for large batches, and it is mainly applicable for sample production, small-batch trial sales, and limited-edition cigar customization.
Gravure printing has the advantages of thick ink layer, strong color saturation, and durable color fastness. The printed patterns are full and three-dimensional, with excellent wear resistance and anti-fading performance. It is widely used in high-end cigar bands with solid color blocks and high-color requirements. The process has high plate making accuracy, stable mass production effect, and is not easy to have color difference in batch products, but the plate making cost is high, so it is only suitable for large-batch fixed-style customization.
